Anika Noni is an American performer and singer. Most famously, she is the voice of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the very first African American Disney Princess. Rose was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson in her character in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American actor and a singer. Most famous for her voice as the voice of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog The original African American Disney Princess. She was recognized as a Disney Legend in 2011. The most famous of her roles is her role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and her portrayal of LaVerne, the Jukebox Ganner from the Starz television show Power. The actress has also received recognition for her theatre performances, including her leading parts as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway for which the Tony Award was won for Best actress in a the Musical.
